In 2022 the special edition “Tracing the Coffee Route” was launched, a project that allowed us to learn about the history of coffee: from the hands of those who made its origin possible in the Colombian mountains to the perfect cup. An idea of traceability throughout the production and supply chain was developed with 20 coffee growers from Santander and Meta.

6,160 kg of green coffee were purchased from 10 coffee growers shareholders of Procafecol S.A. in the department of Santander that are part of the Amigo Inversionista Plan. Among them, three producers were part of the special edition of microlots, and the remaining seven were part of the Santander origin coffee.

This initiative was developed in alliance with the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia, Almacafé and the Trace Coffee organization, and is a joint effort that represented a milestone for coffee institutions, in that it achieved one of the highest levels of traceability and detail in the history of Juan Valdez® coffee.
