STRATEGIES
We recognize the importance of implementing good social and environmental practices both in our operations and in our supply chain, achieving a new way of relating to different stakeholders while driving a competitive business. We achieve this through three main areas:
Sustainability Report 2024

In February 2021, we became Company B, the first coffee store chain in the world to achieve this certification. With this, we join a global movement of companies whose business purpose is to contribute to the solution of major social and environmental problems.
Being a B Company for Procafecol S.A. implies that based on the higher purpose of generating value, beyond the economic to Colombian coffee growers, we work to have a traceable and transparent supply chain, and to develop high standards of corporate governance. Likewise, we look after the welfare of our producers and collaborators, being committed to achieve the best social and environmental practices in each link of our operation.
Declaration of interdependence

The implementation of sustainable programs and practices for the protection and conservation of coffee agroecosystems is one of the practices that has made Colombia a leader and pioneer in the global coffee industry. The public-private agreement Voluntades Café, Bosque y Clima, led by Solidaridad Network, coordinates the coffee value chain in Colombia to further a clear path toward climate action and forest conservation.
With the participation of Procafecol S.A. in this agreement since 2021, the commitment to best social and environmental practices in every link of the coffee production chain is ratified.

Our Juan Valdez organic coffee is the result of farming practices that promote the highest standards of environmental care. It is grown and produced on Colombian farms using a series of methods, practices, and inputs that include strict compliance with issues such as:
- Use of renewable resources.
- Soil conservation and water quality, through the control of chemicals, artificial pesticides, fertilizers made with artificial ingredients, or sewage sludge.
- Limitation of the use of genetically modified plants and animals.
- Guarantee of transparency in labeling.
- Monitoring and auditing up to the transportation link in the supply chain.

Juan Valdez’s Finca coffee is Rainforest certified, a seal that represents sustainable agriculture focused on providing better opportunities for farmers, their families, and the planet. Thanks to this program, the farmers who produce this coffee learn better agricultural practices, create better working conditions, and take better care of nature.
People: Rainforest-certified farms are safer places to live and work, and human rights are respected.
Compensation-profits: Rainforest-certified agricultural methods result in higher-quality, more efficient crops at a lower price.
Planet: Rainforest-certified producers use land, water, and energy carefully, protecting natural resources.
