At Juan Valdez we drive our global expansion through a framework of sustainability and shared value, integrating ESG practices, circular economy and triple impact in key markets such as Spain, Chile and Ecuador, while maintaining the attributes that distinguish the business in Colombia.

Definition of sustainability guidelines for the international operation of Juan Valdez stores.

The guidelines cover 13 main social, environmental and governance (ESG) dimensions, enabling the management of the main impacts of Juan Valdez’s international expansion, with sustainability as a strategic axis.

During 2024 we have been working on the regionalization of these guidelines, taking into account the minimum requirements of each region (LATAM, Central America and the Caribbean, North America, Asia, Middle East and Europe).

Compliance and compliance support with respect to regulatory frameworks such as the European Union’s Deforestation-Free Chains Regulation, Human Rights Due Diligence and environmental regulations in countries.

Accompanying the development of the sustainability strategy with Spain, Mexico, Chile, the United States, Turkey, and soon Brazil and China.

Installation of 52 solar panels to cover part of the store’s operation.

Implementation of the Inclusive Purchasing program through an alliance with Taller Maya, a B-company that works with artisans from Yucatan.

Application of the circular economy, based on the reuse of materials in the construction of the store.

Implementation of the tableware consumption and the Reuse Glass program to reduce the amount of waste generated in stores

United States

Strengthening communication with purpose, specifically through Organic and Farm Coffees, and Women Coffee Growers.

Good environmental operating practices, such as the transition from plastic cutlery and straws to wood and paper.

Chile

Implementation of the waste management program

Labor inclusion program in alliance with Soymás focused on supporting mothers who are heads of households.

Accompaniment in the process to become certified as a B Company

Certification of cage-free eggs by 2027
